Minister: Billions promised for climate finance must turn into trillions at COP29

The upcoming COP29 conference in Baku is designated as a financial conference, because it is at this conference that billions will have to turn into trillions, Minister of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change of Bangladesh, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, said during the event themed "ADB Evolution Roadmap: Update to the 2030 Strategy" within the framework of the 57th annual meeting of the bank in Tbilisi, according to Report.

"We have a new collective quantitative target for climate finance, which is expected to start from 2025," he said.

In November this year Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). One of the main topics of the conference will be the issue of financing the fight against climate change.
